Many landless farm workers in West Bengal have not yet received their ₹4,000 payment under the Bhumihin Krishak Bandhu scheme. The state government started this scheme to help those who work on other people’s land. But many eligible workers are still waiting for the money in their bank accounts.

What is the Bhumihin Khetmojur Scheme?

The West Bengal government launched a special scheme for landless agricultural workers. The official name is Bhumihin Khetmajur or Annual Financial Assistance for Landless Agriculture Labourers. Under this scheme, each eligible worker gets ₹4,000 every year. The money is sent in two parts of ₹2,000 each. One part comes in the Rabi season and the other in the Kharif season.

When Will the Next Installment Come?

The government sends money in two parts. The first part of ₹2,000 is expected to be sent during the Rabi season. The second part of ₹2,000 will come in the Kharif season. The exact dates may change depending on the government’s schedule. Keep checking the official website or listen to announcements on local news.

Why Has the Payment Not Been Received?

There can be many reasons why the money has not reached your account.

1. Application is Still Under Process

The government received lakhs of applications through camps and online forms. It takes time to check all documents and verify details. If your application is still “Pending” or “Under Process,” you will not get the payment yet.

2. Bank Account Details are Wrong

One small mistake can stop the entire payment. If your name, Aadhaar number, or bank account number does not match exactly, the Direct Bank Transfer will fail. Even a spelling error can block the money.

3. Documents are Missing or Invalid

You need to submit clear documents to prove you are a landless worker. If any document is missing, unclear, or fake, your application may be rejected. Common issues include missing proof of residence or lack of valid ID proof.

4. Aadhaar is Not Linked to Bank Account

The government uses Aadhaar to send money directly to your account. If your Aadhaar is not linked to your bank account, the transfer will not go through. This is a very common problem in villages.

5. You are Not in the Final Beneficiary List

Sometimes, even after applying, your name may not be on the final list. This can happen if your village officer did not send your form properly. It can also happen if there was a mistake in data entry.

6. MGNREGA Payment Dispute (Separate Issue)

There is a different problem related to the 100-day job scheme (MGNREGA). The Centre had stopped funds for West Bengal, citing corruption and fake job cards. The Supreme Court later ordered the Centre to release the funds. But this issue is separate from the Bhumihin Krishak Bandhu scheme. If you are waiting for MGNREGA wages, you need to follow a different process.

Who is Eligible for Bhumihin Khetmajur?

Not everyone can get this benefit. You must meet certain conditions.

  • You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.

  • You must not own any agricultural land.

  • You must work as a landless farm labourer.

  • You must not be registered as a sharecropper.

  • You must not already get benefits under the main Krishak Bandhu scheme.

If you meet all these rules, you should be on the beneficiary list. But if your name is missing or your payment has not come, you need to check the status.

What to Do If Your Payment Has Still Not Come?

Do not lose hope. There are clear steps you can take to get your money.

1. Check Your Bank Passbook

First, check your bank passbook or transaction history. Sometimes, the money is credited but you do not get an SMS alert. Look for any deposit of ₹2,000 from the government. The name may appear as “DBT” or “Krishak Bandhu.”

2. Visit the Local Block Office

Go to the Agriculture Department office in your block or panchayat. Carry your Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and any application receipt you have. Ask the officer to check your status. If your details are wrong, ask them to correct them on the spot.

3. Attend a ‘Duare Sarkar’ Camp

The state government runs camps called ‘Duare Sarkar’ (government at your doorstep). At these camps, officials help people with scheme-related problems. Find out when the next camp will be held in your village. Go there with your documents. Tell the officer that your payment has not been received.

4. Contact the Helpline Number

You can call the official helpline for the Krishak Bandhu scheme. Ask for the status of your application. Write down the name of the person you spoke to and the date of your call. This can help if you need to complain later.

5. File a Written Complaint

If nothing works, file a written complaint. Write a simple letter in Bengali or English. Mention your name, village, mobile number, and application number (if you have it). State clearly that you have not received the payment. Submit the letter to the Block Development Officer (BDO) or the District Agriculture Officer. Take a signed copy as proof of submission.
