The Annapurna Bhandar Scheme is a historic step by the West Bengal government to put more money in the hands of women. With a simple online process, a clear eligibility path, and a direct transfer of ₹3,000 every month, it is set to provide major relief to families across the state.
Annapurna Bhandar Age Limit
Based on official statements and the expected guidelines, the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme is likely to be open to women who are 25 years of age or older. This is the same age limit that was used in the previous Lakshmir Bhandar scheme. The government has indicated that the enhanced benefit of ₹3,000 per month will be provided to women in this age bracket to support them in managing their household expenses.
However, the final age criteria will be confirmed once the detailed official notification is issued.
Annapurna Bhandar Apply, Payment Date
The new Annapurna Bhandar scheme will officially launch on June 1, 2026, and this is the date from which the first monthly payments of ₹3,000 will begin. For new applicants, the government is developing a user-friendly online portal. While the portal is expected to go live very soon, possibly even in May 2026, the final launch date has not yet been confirmed. Officials have stated that the application window will open soon, but no deadline has been set for submission.

The government has decided to make the entire process digital. Applications will only be accepted through a brand new online portal that is being developed right now. The old method of applying through “Duare Sarkar” (Government at Doorstep) camps will not be used for this scheme
