PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi is a Central government scheme. It gives Rs 6,000 every year to eligible farmer families across the country. In West Bengal, the scheme started late. The state government initially did not share farmer data with the Centre. Because of this, farmers in Bengal lost out on the first nine installments.

But now, things are changing. After the West Bengal Assembly elections held in April 2026, the Centre says it is ready to fully roll out many schemes again. This includes PM-Kisan and others like rural job guarantee and health insurance programmes.

PM Kisan Latest Update in 2026 West Bengal

During election rallies in Medinipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a major announcement. He promised that if voters elected a BJP government in West Bengal, the total yearly support under PM-Kisan would go up to Rs 9,000.

He said: “Make a BJP CM here, and then the PM and CM together will directly deposit Rs 9,000 of the Kisan Samman Nidhi into every farmer’s account. This is Modi’s guarantee.”

This extra amount of Rs 3,000 per year was also written in the BJP’s election manifesto for West Bengal.
