PM Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 West Bengal: For millions of women across West Bengal who have been waiting to replace their smoky wood-fired stoves with a clean gas burner, May 11, 2026, marks a historic turning point. In the very first cabinet meeting of the newly formed government at Nabanna, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari picked up the long-pending file of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 and announced its immediate rollout across the state.
PM Ujjwala Yojana 3.0 Benefits
The government understands that buying a gas connection can be very costly for a poor family. That is why the scheme covers almost everything.
A Deposit-Free LPG Connection: You do not have to pay the heavy security deposit that a normal customer pays. The government pays it for you.
A Free Gas Stove (Hotplate): You will be given a brand new stove with the connection.
A Free First Gas Refill: Your first filled cylinder (14.2 kg) is also free. The value of this refill and stove together is around ₹1,600.
Health Protection: Cooking with LPG does not produce the thick, harmful smoke that firewood or coal does. This protects your lungs and eyes.
Time Saved: No more hours wasted collecting firewood or waiting for a coal fire to light.
Who is Eligible For PM Ujjwala Yojana 3.0
The scheme is mainly for women. To apply for a free gas connection in West Bengal.
Only for Women: Only a woman who is 18 years or older can apply.
No Other Connection: There should be no other LPG connection from any company in your household.
Category: The applicant should belong to SC, ST, or Most Backward Classes. Families living under the Poverty Line (BPL) or those covered under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana are also eligible.
Resident of WB: You must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
Documents Need To Apply PM Ujjwala Yojana 3.0
Before you start applying, collect these papers. It will make the process very smooth.
Aadhaar Card: Yours and that of all adult family members.
Ration Card: This proves you are from a poor family.
Passport Size Photo: A recent colour photograph.
Address Proof: This can be your Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or a recent electricity bill.
Caste Certificate: Only if you belong to SC, ST, or OBC.
Bank Account Details: A bank account that is linked to your Aadhaar. This is needed for any future subsidy payments.

Step 1: Open the official website of PM Ujjwala Yojana.
Step 2: On the home page, you will see an option that says “Apply for New Ujjwala Connection”. Click on it.
Step 3: A new form will open. Fill in all the details carefully like your name, Aadhaar number, address, and ration card number.
Step 4: Upload clear scanned copies or photos of all the documents mentioned above.
Step 5: Submit the form. You will see an application reference number on your screen. Note it down or take a screenshot. This number is very important for checking your application status later.
