The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has officially declared the Madhyamik (Class 10) examination results for 2026. The results were announced today, May 8, 2026, at 9:30 AM. The official announcement came through a press conference.
Students who took the exam can now view their scorecards. Access is open from 10:15 AM onwards.
WB Madhyamik Result 2026: Key Highlights
Overall Pass Percentage: 86.83%. This is a slight jump from last year’s 86.56%.
Total Students Appeared: Around 9.71 lakh students took the exam.
Top Performer: Abhirup Bhadra from Uttar Dinajpur secured the first rank. He scored 698 marks, which is 99.71%.
Second Position: Priyatosh Mukherjee from Birbhum came second. He scored 696 marks (99.43%).
District Champion: Kalimpong district recorded the highest pass percentage at 95.10%. Kolkata followed with 92.31%.
Top 10 Merit List: A total of 131 students made it to the top 10 list. This includes 103 boys and 28 girls. These students come from 19 different districts.

What is the Minimum Passing Mark?
To pass the Madhyamik exam, you need to score at least 25% in each subject. In terms of total marks, you need a minimum of 272 marks out of a total of 800.
If you fail in one or two subjects, the board will allow you to take a compartment exam. The official notice about this will come out soon.
